Competition
Almost every habitat has competition in it. Competition occurs when animals fight over resources in there environment. Resources can be a variety of things such as food, water, shelter, space/ territory etc.
In the video below you can see how these fish compete for food on the ocean floor, there are so many fish, some fish cannot even reach the food. They are all fighting because in this space there is a limited amount of food.

These bears are also competing for something, they are very fierce and more than likely fighting over food which looks like the fishs.
Competitive Exclusion Principle
The theory of the Competitive Exclusion Principle comes from Gause's laws, he said that two species can not compete for the same resource and remain stable in an environment. They cannot share food and space they each need there own therefore they cannot both survive.

In the video above the fish shown has to be competitive, with the octopus, he does so because if he didn't he won't have enough food to survive and territory to live in. The octopus was a potential to take his food.
